Negaunee Miners (Negaunee, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Gwinn Modeltowners (Gwinn, MI), 66-24 in a league bout.

With the victory, Negaunee upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Miners travel to Houghton (Houghton, MI) to play the Gremlins in a Western Peninsula bout on Monday, February 7. The Gremlins come into the bout with a record of 6-5. Houghton lost 47-36 in their recent league bout against Ishpeming (Ishpeming, MI)

Next up, the Modeltowners play the Hancock Bulldogs (Hancock, MI) in a Western Peninsula bout, on Tuesday, February 8. Gwinn will attempt to upgrade on its 0-11 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 51-39 non-league loss to Lake Linden-Hubbell (Lake Linden, MI).
