Iron Mountain Mountaineers (Iron Mountain, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Gwinn Modeltowners (Gwinn, MI), 53-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Iron Mountain upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Kingsford (Kingsford, MI) to play the Flivvers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 15. The Flivvers go into the bout with a record of 10-4.

Next up, the Modeltowners play the Westwood Patriots (Ishpeming, MI) in a Western Peninsula bout, on Tuesday, February 15. Gwinn will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 12-3 record after their 68-35 non-league win over Manistique (Manistique, MI).
