Tennessee High School Basketball - Union City nudges St. Benedict at Auburndale
February 4, 2023: Cordova, TN 38016 Union City Golden Tornadoes (Union City, TN) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host St. Benedict at Auburndale Eagles (Cordova, TN), 49-48 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Union City upgrades its record to 7-16 on the season. The Golden Tornadoes host Gibson County (Dyer, TN) to clash with the Pioneers in a 2A District 12 bout on Tuesday, February 7. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 12-6.
Next up, the Eagles clash with the Briarcrest Christian Saints (Eads, TN) in a Division II-AA West bout, on Tuesday, February 7. St. Benedict at Auburndale will attempt to upgrade on its 9-10 season record. The Saints go into the bout with a 27-2 record after their 55-29 league win over Memphis University (Memphis, TN).
