New York High School Basketball - Newark can't hold off Geneva
February 4, 2025: Geneva, NY 14456 Geneva Panthers (Geneva, NY) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Newark Reds (Newark, NY), 63-60 in a league match.
With the victory, Geneva upgrades its record to 9-4 on the year. The Panthers travel to Lyons (Lyons, NY) to face the Lions in a non-league match on Thursday, February 6. The Lions enter the match with a record of 9-3. Lyons won 70-52 in their recent non-league match against Red Creek (Red Creek, NY)
The Reds now sport a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wayne for a Section 5 Finger Lakes - East match on Friday, February 7. Newark will face a Eagles squad coming off a 68-37 league win over Midlakes (Clifton Springs, NY). The Eagles record now stands at 15-1.
