Connecticut High School Basketball - Newtown overwhelms New Fairfield
February 5, 2024: Newtown, CT 06482 Fans at Monday's league challenge between the Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) and the visiting New Fairfield Rebels (New Fairfield, CT), saw Newtown's basketball squad wallop New Fairfield by a tally of 62-33.
With the victory, Newtown improves its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Nighthawks travel to Masuk (Monroe, CT) to confront the Panthers in a Southwest challenge on Thursday, February 8. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 8-8. Masuk won 70-65 in their recent league challenge against Stratford (Stratford, CT)
Next up, the Rebels confront the New Milford Green Wave (New Milford, CT) in a Southwest challenge, on Thursday, February 8. New Fairfield will attempt to improve on its 9-6 season record. The Green Wave come into the challenge with a 4-12 record after their 80-32 league loss to Notre Dame Catholic (Fairfield, CT).
