Connecticut High School Basketball - Newtown tops Masuk
February 8, 2024: Monroe, CT 06468 Newtown Nighthawks (Newtown, CT) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Masuk Panthers (Monroe, CT), 84-67 in a league bout.
With the victory, Newtown upgrades its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Nighthawks host Pomperaug (Southbury, CT) to play the Panthers in a Southwest bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 10-7. Pomperaug won 52-50 in their recent non-league bout against Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT)
Next up, the Panthers play the New Fairfield Rebels (New Fairfield, CT) in a Southwest bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Masuk will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Rebels come into the bout with a 11-6 record after their 57-31 non-league win over Abbott RVT (Danbury, CT).
