February 6, 2025: Diagonal, IA 50845 Diagonal Maroons (Diagonal, IA) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting East Union Eagles (Afton, IA), 53-32 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Diagonal upgrades its record to 8-12 on the year. The Maroons host Bedford (Bedford, IA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Monday, February 10. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 6-12. Bedford lost 54-30 in their recent non-league match against Fremont-Mills (Tabor, IA)
The Eagles now sport a 0-21 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mount Ayr for a Pride of Iowa - West match on Friday, February 7. East Union will face a Raiders squad coming off a 53-38 non-league win over Central Decatur (Leon, IA). The Raiders record now stands at 19-1.
