Virginia High School Basketball - Hickory ripped by Lakeland
February 7, 2023: Suffolk, VA 23434 The Lakeland Cavaliers basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Hickory Hawks to 36 in the Cavaliers league triumph on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers now sport a 6-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Deep Creek for a Southeastern contest on Friday, February 10. Lakeland will meet a Hornets team coming off a 70-54 league loss to Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA). The Hornets record now stands at 5-15.
The Hawks (0-19) will now prepare for their contest against Cox (Virginia Beach, VA). The Falcons enter the non-league contest with a 13-6 record. In their last contest, Cox was routed by Tallwood (Virginia Beach, VA), 67-64, in a league contest.
