Virginia High School Basketball - Grassfield overwhelms Hickory
January 13, 2023: Chesapeake, VA 23323 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Grassfield Grizzlies (Chesapeake, VA) and the visiting Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA), saw Grassfield's basketball squad wallop Hickory by a count of 85-35.
With the victory, Grassfield upgrades its record to 3-5 on the campaign. The Grizzlies host Pasquotank County (Elizabeth City, NC) to play the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 16. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 6-7. Pasquotank County lost 74-51 in their recent league challenge against First Flight (Kill Devil Hills, NC)
Next up, the Hawks play the Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA) in a Southeastern challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Hickory will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 8-3 record after their 63-54 league loss to Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA).
