Grassfield Grizzlies (Chesapeake, VA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Nansemond River Warriors (Suffolk, VA), 89-86 in a league bout.

With the victory, Grassfield upgrades its record to 6-8 on the campaign. The Grizzlies host Green Run (Virginia Beach, VA) to play the Stallions in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 28. The Stallions come into the bout with a record of 7-10. Green Run won 46-45 in their recent league bout against First Colonial (Virginia Beach, VA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Warwick Raiders (Newport News, VA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 28. Nansemond River will attempt to upgrade on its 10-5 season record. The Raiders come into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 73-33 league loss to Hampton (Hampton, VA).
