New Mexico High School Basketball - La Cueva overwhelms Piedra Vista
February 7, 2023: Farmington, NM 87402 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) and the host Piedra Vista Panthers (Farmington, NM), saw La Cueva's basketball squad wallop Piedra Vista by a count of 83-32.
With the victory, La Cueva upgrades its record to 14-9 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Sandia (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Matadors in a 5A District 2 challenge on Saturday, February 11. The Matadors come into the challenge with a record of 19-4. Sandia won 59-55 in their recent league challenge against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)
Next up, the Panthers play the West Mesa Mustangs (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 2 challenge, on Friday, February 10. Piedra Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 2-21 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 17-6 record after their 61-48 league win over Farmington (Farmington, NM).
