Illinois High School Basketball - Mt. Zion overwhelms Charleston
February 7, 2024: Charleston, IL 61920 Fans at Wednesday's league challenge between the Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL) and the host Charleston Trojans (Charleston, IL), saw Mt. Zion's basketball squad wallop Charleston by a tally of 67-42.
With the victory, Mt. Zion improves its record to 26-1 on the campaign. The Braves host Mattoon (Mattoon, IL) to play the Greenwave in a Apollo challenge on Friday, February 9. The Greenwave come into the challenge with a record of 14-13. Mattoon won 51-38 in their recent league challenge against Taylorville (Taylorville, IL)
Next up, the Trojans play the Marshall Lions (Marshall, IL) in a Little Illini challenge, on Friday, February 9. Charleston will attempt to improve on its 11-16 season record. The Lions come into the challenge with a 12-14 record after their 45-29 non-league win over La Salette Academy (Georgetown, IL).
