Illinois High School Basketball - Elmwood holds off Bushnell-Prairie City
February 8, 2022: Elmwood, IL 61529 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Elmwood Trojans (Elmwood, IL) and the visiting Bushnell-Prairie City Spartans (Bushnell, IL), saw Elmwood's basketball squad hold off Bushnell-Prairie City by a tally of 59-52.
With the victory, Elmwood improves its record to 13-11 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Cuba/Spoon River Valley (Cuba, IL) to confront the Wildcats in a Prairieland challenge on Friday, February 11. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 3-22. Cuba/Spoon River Valley lost 48-44 in their recent league challenge against Astoria/VIT (Astoria, IL)
Next up, the Spartans confront the Augusta Southeastern Suns (Augusta, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, February 9. Bushnell-Prairie City will attempt to improve on its 7-19 season record. The Suns come into the challenge with a 21-4 record after their 62-52 league win over Quincy Notre Dame (Quincy, IL).
