New Jersey High School Basketball - Holmdel nips Manalapan
February 8, 2024: Englishtown, NJ 07726 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Holmdel Hornets (Holmdel, NJ) and the host Manalapan Braves (Englishtown, NJ), saw Holmdel's basketball squad hold off Manalapan by a count of 61-59.
With the victory, Holmdel upgrades its record to 18-2 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Central Regional (Bayville, NJ) to play the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 10. The Golden Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 19-3. Central Regional won 56-44 in their recent non-league challenge against St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, NJ)
Next up, the Braves play the Donovan Catholic Griffins (Toms River, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 10. Manalapan will attempt to upgrade on its 14-7 season record. The Griffins come into the challenge with a 17-4 record after their 67-51 non-league loss to Christian Brothers Academy (Lincroft, NJ).
