The Highland Park Hornets basketball team (Amarillo, TX), was overwhelmed 67-34 in Friday's league battle with the host Bovina Mustangs (Bovina, TX)

The Mustangs now possess a 12-18 record. They put it on the line next when they host Farwell for a 2A Region I District 3 battle on Tuesday, February 13. Bovina will battle a Steers team coming off a 63-54 league win over Panhandle (Panhandle, TX). The Steers record now stands at 22-9.

The Hornets (8-21) will now prepare for their battle against Vega (Vega, TX). The Longhorns come into the 2A Region I District 3 battle with a 14-9 record. In their last battle, Vega trounced Boys Ranch (Boys Ranch, TX), 65-35, in a league battle.
