Louisiana High School Basketball - Carencro nips Lafayette
February 9, 2024: Lafayette, LA 70506 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Carencro Bears (Lafayette, LA) and the host Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA), saw Carencro's basketball squad hold off Lafayette by a count of 56-54.
With the victory, Carencro upgrades its record to 13-16 on the campaign. The Bears host New Iberia (New Iberia, LA) to play the Yellowjackets in a 5A District 3 challenge on Monday, February 12. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a record of 24-6. New Iberia lost 32-29 in their recent league challenge against Southside (Youngsville, LA)
Next up, the Lions play the Comeaux Spartans (Lafayette, LA) in a 5A District 3 challenge, on Tuesday, February 13. Lafayette will attempt to upgrade on its 20-4 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 10-14 record after their 56-51 league loss to Acadiana (Lafayette, LA).
