Jefferson West Tigers (Meriden, KS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Sabetha Bluejays (Sabetha, KS), 39-36 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Jefferson West upgrades its record to 7-10 on the season. The Tigers host Hiawatha (Hiawatha, KS) to clash with the Red Hawks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Red Hawks go into the bout with a record of 4-11. Hiawatha lost 49-38 in their recent non-league bout against Holton (Holton, KS)

Next up, the Bluejays clash with the Perry-Lecompton Kaws (Perry, KS) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Sabetha will attempt to upgrade on its 3-14 season record. The Kaws go into the bout with a 7-9 record after their 53-30 non-league loss to Nemaha Central (Seneca, KS).
