North Carolina High School Softball - McDowell bounces Watauga

March 1, 2022: Boone, NC 28607

The crowd at Tuesday's non-league match between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the host Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC), saw McDowell's softball squad achieve victory over Watauga by a count of 11-1.

The Titans now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Smoky Mountain for a non-league match on Saturday, March 5. McDowell will play a Mustangs team coming off a 4-2 non-league win over Madison (Marshall, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-0.

In their next game, the Pioneers play the Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, March 2. Watauga will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Eagles come into the contest with a 1-0 record after their 5-2 non-league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).
