Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) backers left the game pleased Thursday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host Valley Pirates (Sanders, AZ), 1-0 in a non-league match.

The Bears (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Santa Fe Indian (Santa Fe, NM). The Braves come into the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Santa Fe Indian was nipped by Goddard (Roswell, NM), 22-0, in a non-league match.
