North Sand Mountain Bison (Higdon, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting North Jackson Chiefs (Stevenson, AL), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bison now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Skyline for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 16. North Sand Mountain will battle a Vikings squad coming off a 17-2 league win over Gaylesville (Gaylesville, AL). The Vikings record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, North Jackson falls to 11-1 on the campaign. The Chiefs travel to Whitwell (Whitwell, TN) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 14. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 0-2. Whitwell lost 15-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Baylor (Chattanooga, TN)
