Match Summary
In set 1 Lake Balboa held on at 6-9 before collapsing in a run 16 out of the next 17 points by a very tough serving opponent. Nobody was able to stop the bleeding. Set 2, the Cougars bounced back & opened up a 7-2 lead only to watch that melt away at 8 all. The rest of set 2 was Panorama 17, LBCP 2. Again Lake Balboa yielded huge chunks of points with no rescuer in sight. Set 3, Lake Balboa again answered the bell with a short lived 6-2 lead. The Pythons closed to 7-5 with the Cougs hanging on for dear life. Panorama then went on runs of 5, 6, 3, 4, & 2 points to win the match. Panorama only needed 4 tries at a game point & 1 try at match point. 2 points per rotation is considered a good offensive effort. Lake Balboa allowed 18 where 10 is the mark of success. Panorama is a very solid, hard serving team but was this really our best effort? It looks like buying into losing quickly at the first signs of adversity. Everybody needs to be fired up & play hard down to the last whistle.
