In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting Litchfield Purple Panthers baseball team scored a close 10-6 win over the Southwestern Piasa Birds.

The Purple Panthers (2-1) will now prepare for their game against Mt. Pulaski (Mt. Pulaski, IL). The Hilltoppers go into the non-league game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Mt. Pulaski nudged Nokomis (Nokomis, IL), 8-1, in a non-league game.

Next, the Piasa Birds play the Greenfield/Northwestern Tigers (Greenfield, IL) in a non-league game, on Friday, March 21. Southwestern will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record. The Tigers go into the game with a 0-2 record after their 4-1 non-league loss to Pittsfield (Pittsfield, IL).
