The crowd at Thursday's non-league battle between the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions (Glendale, AZ) and the visiting Westwood Warriors (Mesa, AZ), saw Mountain Ridge's baseball team beat Westwood by a margin of 8-6.

The Mountain Lions (2-7) will now prepare for their battle against Liberty (Peoria, AZ). The Lions enter the 6A Desert Valley battle with a 10-1 record. In their last battle, Liberty by Mountain View (Mesa, AZ), 4-0, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Warriors face the Valley Vista Monsoon (Surprise, AZ) in a non-league battle, on Monday, March 24. Westwood will attempt to improve on its 9-6 season record. The Monsoon enter the battle with a 5-4 record after their 8-7 non-league win over Gunnison (Gunnison, CO).
