Virginia High School Softball - William Byrd nudges Liberty
March 21, 2023: Vinton, VA 24179 William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Liberty Minutemen (Bedford, VA), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.
The Terriers now own a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cave Spring for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. William Byrd will face a Knights squad coming off a 5-3 non-league win over Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA). The Knights record now stands at 3-0.
With the loss, Liberty falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Minutemen host Staunton River (Moneta, VA) to face the Golden Eagles in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 23. The Golden Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. Staunton River won 16-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA)
