Virginia High School Softball - Staunton River gets by William Byrd
May 2, 2023: Vinton, VA 24179 The Staunton River Golden Eagles got by the host William Byrd Terriers softball squad by a final score of 6-5 in Tuesday's league battle.
The Golden Eagles (13-3) will now prepare for their battle against Northside (Roanoke, VA). The Vikings go into the Blue Ridge battle with a 9-7 record. In their last battle, Northside nudged Hidden Valley (Roanoke, VA), 7-0, in a non-league battle.
The Terriers now possess a 5-13 record. They play next when they host Franklin County for a Blue Ridge battle on Friday, May 5. William Byrd will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 13-6 non-league win over Liberty (Bedford, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 13-3.
