The Watauga Pioneers baseball team (Boone, NC), was overwhelmed 5-0 in Friday's league outing with the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC)

The Cougars now hold a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Caldwell for a Northwestern 3A/4A outing on Tuesday, March 28. Alexander Central will confront a Spartans team coming off a 13-3 league win over Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 6-3.

Next, the Pioneers confront the Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC) in a Northwestern 3A/4A outing, on Tuesday, March 28. Watauga will attempt to advance on its 9-2 season record. The Panthers go into the outing with a 4-5 record after their 12-4 league win over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC).
