In Tuesday's league bout, the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) baseball team got by the visiting McDowell Titans (Marion, NC), by a count of 2-1.

The Pioneers now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Stephens for a Northwestern 6A/7A challenge on Friday, March 27. Watauga will clash with a Indians team coming off a 15-14 non-league win over Hickory (Hickory, NC). The Indians record now stands at 11-1.
