In Friday's league match, the host Ledford Panthers softball team scored a nice 18-0 win over the Asheboro Blue Comets.

The Panthers (10-2) will now prepare for their match against North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights come into the Mid-Piedmont 3A match with a 9-5 record. In their last match, North Davidson was routed by North Stanly (New London, NC), 4-1, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Blue Comets battle the Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) in a Mid-Piedmont 3A match, on Tuesday, April 1. Asheboro will attempt to better on its 3-9 season record. The Timberwolves come into the match with a 6-7 record after their 10-0 league loss to Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC).
