March 30, 2024: Effingham, IL 62401 Effingham Flaming Hearts (Effingham, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL), 7-2 in a league test.
With the win, Effingham upgrades its record to 8-1 on the season. The Flaming Hearts host Teutopolis (Teutopolis, IL) to battle the Wooden Shoes in a non-league test on Monday, April 1. The Wooden Shoes come into the test with a record of 6-4. Teutopolis won 15-8 in their recent non-league test against St. Joseph-Ogden (St. Joseph, IL)
With the defeat, Mt. Zion falls to 4-3 on the season. The Braves host MacArthur (Decatur, IL) to battle the Generals in a non-league test on Monday, April 1. The Generals come into the test with a record of 2-6. MacArthur won 8-7 in their recent league test against Lanphier (Springfield, IL)
