The McDowell Titans baseball team scored 6 runs and held the host Mitchell Mountaineers to 5 in the Titans non-league win on Tuesday.

The Titans now own a 5-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to South Caldwell for a Northwestern 6A/7A test on Thursday, April 2. McDowell will clash with a Spartans team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC). The Spartans record now stands at 11-2.

The Mountaineers (4-9) will now prepare for their bout against Sevier County (Sevierville, TN). The Smoky Bears enter the non-league bout with a 10-11 record.
