In Thursday's non-league match, the host UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs softball team scored a tight 8-7 win over the St. Michael Catholic Cardinals .

The Bulldogs (5-3) will now prepare for their match against LeFlore (Mobile, AL). The Rattlers come into the 5A Area 1 match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, LeFlore nipped Blount (Eight Mile, AL), 13-7, in a non-league match.
