The Southwestern Randolph Cougars baseball team scored 14 runs and limited the host Montgomery Central Timberwolves to 2 in the Cougars non-league victory on Thursday.

The Cougars (2-1) will now prepare for their match against Providence Grove (Franklinville, NC). The Patriots go into the Piedmont Athletic 1A/2A match with a 1-1 record. In their last outing, Providence Grove was overwhelmed by Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC), 8-1, in a league outing.

Next, the Timberwolves confront the Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC) in a non-league outing, on Friday, March 8. Montgomery Central will attempt to advance on its 1-2 season record. The Tigers go into the outing with a 1-2 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC).
