Bessemer City Yellow Jackets (Bessemer City, NC) backers left the game pleased Friday as they saw their softball squad thwart the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), 15-5 in a league game.

With the triumph, Bessemer City upgrades its record to 2-1 on the year. The Yellow Jackets travel to East Gaston (Mt. Holly, NC) to play the Warriors in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A game on Tuesday, March 11. The Warriors enter the game with a record of 4-1. East Gaston won 17-4 in their recent league game against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC)
