The Loyd Star Hornets softball team scored 5 runs and held the visiting Vicksburg Gators to 4 in the Hornets non-league win on Thursday.

The Hornets now sport a 16-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Enterprise for a non-league battle on Friday, April 11. Loyd Star will encounter a Yellowjackets team coming off a 13-0 league loss to Stringer (Stringer, MS). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 10-10.

With the loss, Vicksburg moves to 5-12 on the season. The Gators travel to Columbus (Columbus, MS) to encounter the Falcons in a 6A Region 2 battle on Saturday, April 12. The Falcons come into the battle with a record of 1-19.
