In Friday's non-league game, the visiting Morgan County Cougars baseball team scored a close 6-5 win over the Mason County Royals.

The Cougars (9-8) will now prepare for their game against Betsy Layne (Betsy Layne, KY). The Bobcats go into the non-league game with a 6-9 record. In their last game, Betsy Layne was tipped by Shelby Valley (Pikeville, KY), 10-0, in a non-league game.
