New York High School Baseball - Bishop Loughlin loses to LaSalle Academy

CARDINALS COMEBACK CAPTURES LIONS
Tuesday, April 11, 2023 – Trailing 0-4 going into the bottom of the fifth inning, the La Salle Academy Cardinals put up a 10-spot for a thrilling 10-4 come from behind victory against the Bishop Loughlin Lions on Randall’s Island. It was the second time in as many days that the Cardinals scored 10 times in an inning as they improved their record to 2-4 overall and 2-0 in the CHSAA A Division.
The Lions got on the board first as the Cardinals misplayed several balls and plays to go into a 4-run deficit but as the game progressed so did the defense, as CF, Yasser Calderon made another diving catch on a shallow pop up. Manuel Ramirez (W, 1-3) was finally the beneficiary of good fortune. He had been the hard luck loser in three games already this year but when he finished the top of fifth still down 0-4, he had no idea of what would come next.
And what came next was a combination of a tired Loughlin starter and very good plate discipline by La Salle
