DeSoto Central Jaguars (Southaven, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hernando Tigers (Hernando, MS), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Jaguars now own a 14-7 record. They take the field next when they host Olive Branch for a 6A Region 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 19.

With the loss, Hernando falls to 21-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to South Panola (Batesville, MS) to face the Tigers in a 6A Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, April 19. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 20-6. South Panola won 15-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Grenada (Grenada, MS)
