Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) fans left the game pleased Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad achieve victory over the host Mason County Royals (Maysville, KY), 7-4 in a non-league match.

With the triumph, Powell County advances its record to 6-9 on the season. The Pirates host Owsley County (Booneville, KY) to battle the Owls / Lady Owls in a District 56 match on Thursday, April 16. The Owls / Lady Owls come into the match with a record of 5-11. Owsley County lost 19-1 in their recent non-league match against Perry County Central (Hazard, KY)

The Royals now have a 7-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pendleton County for a non-league match on Friday, April 17. Mason County will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 21-4 non-league win over Augusta (Augusta, KY). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-9.
