The Marquette Catholic Explorers (Alton, IL) baseball the host Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), 9-7 in Wednesday's non-league challenge.

The Explorers now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they host Civic Memorial for a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 17. Marquette Catholic will clash with a Eagles team coming off a 12-1 league loss to Triad (Troy, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 7-7.

With the defeat, Southwestern drops to 3-11 on the year. The Piasa birds travel to Litchfield (Litchfield, IL) to clash with the Purple Panthers in a South Central challenge on Friday, April 18. The Purple Panthers go into the challenge with a record of 12-5. Litchfield won 8-4 in their recent league challenge against Carlinville (Carlinville, IL)
