In Thursday's league game, the host Cholla Chargers baseball team scored a close 3-2 victory over the Rio Rico Hawks.

The Chargers (9-6) will now prepare for their game against Douglas (Douglas, AZ). The Bulldogs enter the 4A Gila game with a 17-7 record. In their last game, Douglas held off ALA - Gilbert North (Gilbert, AZ), 8-1, in a non-league game.
