The Taft Greyhounds baseball team scored 8 runs and limited the visiting Mathis Pirates to 1 in the Greyhounds league victory on Tuesday.

The Greyhounds (13-12) will now prepare for their match against Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX). The Panthers go into the 3A Region IV District 29 match with a 3-18 record. In their last match, Aransas Pass was overwhelmed by Goliad (Goliad, TX), 8-1, in a league match.

The Pirates (10-11) will now prepare for their match against Tuloso-Midway (Corpus Christi, TX). The Warriors/Cherokees go into the non-league match with a 9-5 record.
