Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host Odem Owls (Odem, TX), 10-9 in a league test.

With the win, Taft upgrades its record to 12-12 on the season. The Greyhounds host Mathis (Mathis, TX) to battle the Pirates in a 3A Region IV District 29 test on Tuesday, April 18. The Pirates come into the test with a record of 10-10. Mathis won 14-4 in their recent league test against Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX)

With the defeat, Odem falls to 11-13 on the season. The Owls travel to George West (George West, TX) to battle the Longhorns in a 3A Region IV District 29 test on Tuesday, April 18. The Longhorns come into the test with a record of 7-6. George West won 10-5 in their recent league test against Aransas Pass (Aransas Pass, TX)
