Spectators at Thursday's league game between the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) and the host Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), saw Topsail's softball squad topple Ashley by a score of 16-1.

With the triumph, Topsail improves its record to 11-3 on the year. The Pirates host Southern Nash (Bailey, NC) to face the Firebirds in a non-league game on Friday, April 3. The Firebirds enter the game with a record of 12-0. Southern Nash won 12-2 in their recent non-league game against Nash Central (Rocky Mount, NC)

The Screaming Eagle now hold a 3-10 record. They play next when they host Laney for a Carolina Coast 6A/7A/8A game on Tuesday, April 14. Ashley will battle a Buccaneers team coming off a 2-0 league win over West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC). The Buccaneers record now stands at 9-4.
