Game Summary
The CB South Freshman Titans continue to prove that they are hard to beat. After jumping out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning after a Nick Zakrzewski triple, the Titans surrendered 8 runs in the second inning. Alex Shuart entered to pitch in the second and stabilized the Titan defense scattering 3 hits over the next 2 1/3 innings. C.J. Rivel single handedly began to chip away at the deficit in the third by lacing a line drive to the right centerfield gap for a triple and then stealing home to put the Titans down by 6. The Titan offense came alive in the 5th with patient at bats leading to walks by Tyler Moore, Kyle Lentz, and Landen Hinds followed by RBI hits by Zakrzewski and Jake Friedman. Luke Poley came in to relieve in the 5th and slammed the door shut authoring a 1-2-3 inning striking out two. The Titans now seized all of the momentum, but a win was not to be as the time limit was reached and a tie would have to be settled for.
