Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Nicholas County Grizzlies (Summersville, WV) and the visiting Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV), witnessed Nicholas County's softball squad tip Midland Trail by a count of 2-1.

The Grizzlies now sport a 9-5 record. They play next when they travel to Buffalo for a non-league match on Saturday, April 23.

With the loss, Midland Trail moves to 2-4 on the season. The Patriots host Braxton County (Sutton, WV) to face the Eagles in a non-league match on Friday, April 22. The Eagles go into the match with a record of 4-5.
