Arkansas High School Baseball - Newport nips Rivercrest
April 22, 2025: Newport, AR 72112 The Newport Greyhounds baseball team scored 4 runs and held the visiting Rivercrest Colts to 3 in the Greyhounds league win on Tuesday.
The Greyhounds now own a 17-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rose Bud for a non-league test on Friday, April 25. Newport will clash with a Ramblers team coming off a 6-1 non-league win over Des Arc (Des Arc, AR). The Ramblers record now stands at 13-8.
With the defeat, Rivercrest drops to 6-12 on the year. The Colts host Harrisburg (Harrisburg, AR) to clash with the Hornets in a 3A Region 3 test on Thursday, April 24. The Hornets go into the test with a record of 14-6. Harrisburg won 5-4 in their recent league test against Manila (Manila, AR)
