Woodside Wildcats (Woodside, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the visiting San Mateo Bearcats (San Mateo, CA), 2-1 in a league test.

With the win, Woodside upgrades its record to 13-5 on the season. The Wildcats travel to University (San Francisco, CA) to battle the Red Devils in a non-league test on Saturday, April 29. The Red Devils come into the test with a record of 14-6. University won 6-1 in their recent league test against Lick-Wilmerding (San Francisco, CA)

With the defeat, San Mateo falls to 6-13 on the season. The Bearcats host El Camino (South San Francisco, CA) to battle the Colts in a Peninsula - Ocean test on Saturday, April 29. The Colts come into the test with a record of 6-9. El Camino lost 10-9 in their recent league test against Mills (Millbrae, CA)
