New Mexico High School Softball - Thoreau edges Northwest
April 3, 2025: Thoreau, NM 87323 The Thoreau Hawks softball team scored 13 runs and held the visiting Northwest Falcons to 11 in the Hawks non-league win on Thursday.
The Hawks now possess a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tohatchi for a 3A District 1 battle on Tuesday, April 8. Thoreau will confront a Cougars team coming off a 12-6 non-league win over Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM). The Cougars record now stands at 4-5.
With the loss, Northwest moves to 0-4 on the season. The Falcons travel to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to confront the Eagles in a non-league battle on Friday, April 11. The Eagles come into the battle with a record of 7-4. Navajo Prep won 28-3 in their recent league battle against Wingate (Fort Wingate, NM)
