New York High School Baseball - Sacred Heart loses to LaSalle Academy
April 30, 2024: New York, NY 10003 The LaSalle Academy Cardinals the visiting Sacred Heart Irish baseball team by a count of 10-7 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Cardinals now possess a 3-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. John's Prep for a Catholic A - North bout on Thursday, May 2. LaSalle Academy will face a Red Storm team coming off a 11-1 league win over St. Edmund Prep (Brooklyn, NY). The Red Storm record now stands at 19-1.
Next, the Irish face the Cathedral Prep Crusaders (Elmhurst, NY) in a non-league bout, on Friday, May 3. Sacred Heart will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record.

LA SALLE RALLIES FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN
Tuesday, April 30, 2024 – The La Salle Cardinals rallied for six runs in the bottom of the fifth for a come from behind 10-7 victory over Sacred Heart on Randall’s Island. The win was the second in a row for La Salle as they improved their CHSAA league record to 3-4. The Cardinal comeback made a winner of Ryan Gallaher (W, 3 1/3IP, 3R, 3ER, 3Ks) who was in relief of starter Allen Gutierrez.
Sacred Heart gained the lead and seemingly all the momentum after posting back-to-back three-run innings in the fourth and the fifth. However, La Salle pushed back in the bottom of the fifth for their margin of victory thanks to a couple of errors and an RBI double from Jose Cerda.
On Deck: The Cardinals are on the road against St. John’s Prep on Thursday, May 3rd. The first pitch is slated for 4pm at ICYP in Queens.
