The Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) softball routed the visiting Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV), 20-5 in Thursday's league outing.

The Patriots now sport a 12-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to James Monroe for a Coalfield AA outing on Monday, May 4. Midland Trail will encounter a Mavericks team coming off a 20-2 league loss to Independence (Coal City, WV). The Mavericks record now stands at 2-10.
